WINTER HAS RETURNED!
After almost two weeks of warm, rainy weather we are once again experiencing cold weather and snow - something we look forward to throughout the rest of the year. Trips are once again being taken. Don't hesitate - call by Sunday evening to join the club on its next great "no-wait Wednesday" trip to the slopes.
GREAT DEAL FOR TWO FULL DAYS OF SKIING
Add more enjoyment to your midweek skiing by attending our 2-day Ski and Gambling Get-away on March 1 and 2. Stay in a spacious room at the beautiful Seneca Allegheny Casino and Resort, ski at Holiday Valley one day and Holimont the other, visit Ellicottville for dinner and shopping, and enjoy gaming with your friends.
This is a great opportunity to bring your non-skier
partner along, as they will stay busy with all the activities there are
to enjoy in town, at the ski resort, and in the casino, enjoying gaming, restaurants, and a great indoor pool and hot tub.
PRESEASON PARTIES AT QUAKER STEAK & LUBE
Stop by the Good Times Ski Club table at the two upcoming preseason parties at our local Quaker Steak and Lube restaurants. These events are the "unofficial" start of the ski season for Mahoning and Shenango Valley residents. The original Quaker Steak & Lube restaurant in Sharon will host its event on Thursday Nov. 17, while the party in Austintown will be held on Thursday, Dec. 8. Great prizes are awarded, while attendees have an opportunity to visit the tables of clubs, retailers, and area ski resorts.
PLAN TO ATTEND and learn more about skiing Ohio, PA, and western New York!
ELECTION OF OFFICERS FOR 2017 SEASON
Election of officers for the 2017 season was held at the annual fall meet-up on October 13. Officers for the upcoming season are:
PRESIDENT: Mary Kane 330-619-0190
VICE PRESIDENT: Collin Coy 440-319-6677
SECRETARY: Terry Shifflet 330-638-0513
TREASURER: Joe Olguin 541-914-7556
The club hosted its second preseason Social Mixer at the Hartford Hill Winery
in Fowler, OH, on Thursday October 13. This event provided a chance for current members to get re-acquainted as well as for
guests to learn more about our club. Light refreshments were provided to all those in attendance, and election of officers for the 2016-17 ski season was held.
All money earned by this raffle will be used to subsidize the cost of trips taken during the 2017 season.
ADDITIONAL PICK UP POINTS SET
Our bus will stop in Pennsylvania to pick up skiers or boarders if requested. We stop at the Comfort Inn, 836 Perry Hwy, at the I-80 Route 19/Mercer exit. We will also make a stop at the Edinboro exit of Route 79 for those who live further north. These stops will be made only if requested in advance. Call ahead if you plan to attend, and we will gladly pick you up.
New members pay only $10.00 for Club Dues
We provide this first-year incentive
because we believe that once a snow sport enthusiast experiences the advantages
of midweek trips, they will return for many more.
Guests and new members pay just $90.00 the first trip they attend - $80.00 for that day's trip plus annual membership dues of $10.00. Now, as members of the Good Times Ski & Snowboard Club they can attend all future trips at member cost of $80.00.
Existing members pay $20.00 for membership if paid prior to December 31, 2016, and $25.00 after that date. Members can earn discounts by inviting others along. For each guest a member brings on a trip he/she earns a $10.00 discount in the cost of that trip. For example, bring three guests, cut your price by $30.00, and the trip costs you only $50.00 to attend. Many people find that by bringing a friend along the guest's membership will be covered by the member's discount.
